The following are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about our services. Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions or require more information.
How can I get started?
Schedule your free 15-20 minute telephone consultation Click here
The initial consultation is an opportunity to have an open conversation with your therapist. You can ask questions, get a sense of their style, personality, and areas of expertise, and determine whether you feel comfortable working together toward your wellness goals.
Fit is everything in the therapeutic process. Pay attention to how your body responds during the conversation. This somatic information can guide your next steps. Be sure to ask about your therapist’s availability to ensure it aligns with your current needs.
Currently, our Therapy services are offered virtually through our secure online video platform and by telephone. You may choose the format that best works for you for each session.

Please note our payment policy asks that you pay for your session either at the start or the end of the session. We accept payment via credit card (including Visa Debit). Our online client portal allows you to process credit card payments manually or automatically for your convenience. If there is a preferred payment method that is not listed please reach out and we can do our best to accommodate. Please be advised that our services are not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Psychotherapy Services are now income tax-exempt services as stated by Revenue Canada.
After registering with our services following your initial consultation; through our client portal you will be prompted to create your client profile (login, password) and you will be prompted to complete your informed consent form as well as to complete your intake form prior to your first official Therapy session.
As we reserve your appointment time, especially for you, we ask that you please provide 48 hours advance notice should you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. No-shows, cancellations, and change requests less than 48 hours before a scheduled appointment time will be billed for the full session price. Please be advised that late arrival for the session may limit the length of your session and the full-service amount will be applied.
We currently do not offer direct billing for all insurance providers. At this time, direct billing is available through Telus eClaims for participating insurers.
For clients whose insurers fall outside of Telus eClaims, you will receive an invoice by email after your appointment. This invoice can be submitted directly to your insurance provider for reimbursement, where applicable.
Our therapy services are covered by most extended health benefit plans. However, coverage varies—please review your plan to confirm which provider designations (such as Registered Psychotherapist or Social Service Worker) are eligible for reimbursement.
The frequency of your sessions will be determined collaboratively with your therapist, based on your current needs and goals at the start of therapy. This may shift over time as your circumstances and level of support change.
Some clients begin with weekly sessions, while others start biweekly and later adjust to weekly or monthly appointments depending on what feels most supportive. Flexibility is important—what matters most is maintaining consistency and finding a pace that honours where you are in your process.
Together with your therapist, you’ll determine a flow that supports your healing and growth. Consistency and thoughtful pacing are key to meaningful change.
Here are a few things you might consider having with you during your sessions:
A journal or notebook and a pen/pencil for jotting down reflections or insights
An open notes section on your computer (you can also use the secure notes feature within our virtual platform during your appointment)
A drink such as water, coffee, or tea to help you stay grounded and comfortable
A sense of openness and curiosity toward your process
Something comforting from your environment—like a blanket, candle, or meaningful object—to help you feel safe and supported
